‘Talking TV with Ryan and Ryan’ discuss the season premiere of ‘Mad Men’

(Lookig for my recap of “Public Relations”? Click here!)

In honor of the season premiere of “Mad Men,” Maureen “Mo” Ryan and I sat down in a virtual, conference table-less room and talked for 45 minutes about the season premiere of the show.

As always, you can listen to (and subscribe to) the podcast by visiting our little slice of iTunes.

Enjoy!

Mad Men is my version of Mo Ryan’s experience with Breaking Bad.

Over the years one finds certain stories will never gain traction for themselves. Stories about politicians, lawyers, and gangsters were on the list for me. I can now add salesmen.

Mo found Breaking Bad hard to get into because there were no characters in it she liked. I have the same issue with MadMen. Even if the quality of a show shines brightly, if one does not care, like, or empathize with the characters it is all for naught.

Mad Men is such a show for me. So is Sopranos.

Sure hope you and Mo do not limit your podcasts to Mad Men. :(

    Great work on the ‘cast.

    Cheers!

Loved the podcast and could easily listen to longer discussions on the show — there is sooo much meat on the bone and so much to dig into with Mad Men, you could easily keep talking for another 45 minutes. As far as your debate about the format of the discussions, I’d rather keep having you guys talk about things after the fact rather than trying to do a commentary style during the episode.

Keep up the good work and I’ll definitely be back next week!
